Description
Narrow angles measurements (2θ<10°) are accompanied by a significant increase in background radiation associated mainly with out-of-focus radiation tails of the X-ray tube. A knife collimator is used to reduce background radiation for measurements at narrow diffraction angles. Alternatively or as a supplement to the latter, an antiscatter slit for narrow angles can be used. The antiscatter slits are installed into the incident beam mask socket (instead of BM1) and have numerical markings that coincide with the DS divergence slit markings.
